Bom Jesus do Monte

Classified since 1970 as a Property of Public Interest, on 30 January 2018, the "Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary in Braga" was awarded to the World Heritage List at the UNESCO World Heritage Center.

This Catholic sanctuary dedicated to Senhor Bom Jesus is an architectural-landscape complex composed of a church, a staircase where the Via Sacra do Bom Jesus is developed , a forest area.

Anyone who knows the Sanctuary of Senhor Bom Jesus de Matosinhos , in Congonhas, must have remembered him when he saw the photos of the Sanctuary of Braga. For this resemblance was one of the reasons that left me dying to go to Braga. And it's no coincidence! The inspiration came even from Portuguese lands! To compensate for the reduced size, here we have the prophets of Aleijadinho to make our specimen special. The dispute is fierce!Glad you do not have to choose!
